holy smokes, what a nice way to make wood....

have made firewood for many years the old fashioned way of cutting it into chunks in the woods and manhandling it home and into the woodshed.... Have a M4900, wonder if it can run one of these operations... some leg work to do....

I wouldn't go any smaller than a 60 hpr tractor mainly becuase of the weight you need somthing good and heavy in front of that trailer when it is loaded going up or downhill, I would say that is about 6 1/2 ton including the trailer. It's a little overloaded in that picture I just wanted to see what it could do.

How do you like the self loading trailers hydraulic arm? enough power? how about fully extended down a hill? lift capacity? What do you think?

Ive seen them in Baileys supply and always wondered, looks like a good investment and cheaper and more versatile than a self loading log truck
Thinking i could use it to haul logs to mill.

this model is one of the smaller ones but it works great for what I am doing it will pickup a 15' x 18" log fully extended. Mine reaches out 16 feet and will pick up 1200 lbs at 16 feet. on abigger log I just grab it and pull it in closer to the trailer and then lift it on. For the rest of your question I like the loader it seems well built and smooth running. if you where looking for something bigger they make models that have the same boom as mine and then it will telescope out and has more lift power.
