I've been clearing off fences and moving a lot of brush over the last few weeks. Last week after getting back to the shed I noticed that I had mashed in my front grill. Luckily nothing was broken and I got it popped back out with the aid of a rubber mallet.
As soon as I finished for the day I ordered a piece of flattened expanded metal to deal with the lack of grill protection. The steel arrived a couple days and after a few hours I had it cut, welded, painted and put back on the tractor.

Looks very nice.
But be careful, the grill is not the only vulnerable area on today's modern tractors.
Lay under there and look at your hyd/trans filters on the right rear. Then there's your loader valve and 3rd function if you have it.
There's been a lot of damage mentioned here over the years from those of us that get off the lawn or hay fields.

Looks really good. That is on my list to do. I have protected the soft underbelly but found out the hard way a couple months ago I also need front end protection.

Very nice job. I had my grill guard modified BEFORE I got my grapple. Fortunately - I read quite a few posts, like the Op, before my grapple purchase. View attachment 682376

Only issue with any of those modifications is, you cannot add suitcase weights once you do that.

I guess you are right -5030. Never thought about suitcase weights. The combined weight of my FEL and 820# grapple are probably all I will ever need.

All well and good if you always have your FEL on. I don't. When I'm farming, it's off of both tractors. Gets in the way constantly. Only time they are on is when I'm moving round bales around or loading semi trailers. I don't own a grapple, I have no use for one. I have the Kubota HD excavation buckets and a set of pallet forks.... and my SSQA 10 foot snow plow and that's it.

I can see with a grapple, a mesh guard would be nice. I don't need or want one. Kind of puts me in mind of those 'Billy bars' people put on their pickup trucks with the headlight guards. I think they look kind of stupid. I can see a bull bar for deer if I lived out west but I don't.

Whatever blows your dress up I guess. and yes I have the suitcase racks on both mine and they wear suitcase weights when the loaders are off.

The other issue is, Kubota headlights are and always have been marginal at best so blocking them to any extent makes them even worse. I ditched my flashlight quality bulbs long ago for LED bulbs. Kubota headlights are on par with flashlights with almost expired batteries............lol

I have no need for suitcase weights at all but hopefully the brush guard will save my grill and radiator one day.

Wouldn't it be ODD if everybody needed/wanted the exact same things. As you can see from the pic I posted. My OEM brush guard in its original state would surely stop things like - 32 gallon garbage cans, 5 gallon buckets and the like.

39+ years and I've never removed my FEL. I've never swapped back to the bucket on my FEL once I had the grapple installed.

I agree - everybody should do exactly as they need and let it go at that.
