John Deere 970, Kubota M7060
To all you Kubota owners. I'm seriously considering the m7060. It seems very versatile for what I do and I prefer the hydraulic line layout on the loader over the John Deere 5075/5085.there lines are way out there and I think they will easily get destroyed in brush clearing. My question is this... Anyone out there using your m7060 with a mulching machine.... Seppi miniforst/ fea175 ? How does it perform. Enough horsepower ? In what gears can you clear 2" to 3" brush ? How does it handle 4"to 5" trees ? I'm wanting to upgrade but I have a limited budget. The m7060 and above mentioned mulchers are my targeted budget limits. Any help greatly appreciated.

Are there specs for required HP for the mulcher you mention? The tractor specs are on the Kubota website.

Welcome to the forum Raul:drink:
I really question the available "juice" for a mulcher from the factory set up. I've run a simple rotary without issue's but besides the psi/gpm available, ask around (beyond the dealer) to see if the elec. sol is meant for full time use. It's also a real pain to hold that switch for even an hour.

Gentlemen, the mulcher I hope to use is either going to be a seppi miniforst or features 175. PTO driven . Requires a minimum of pto 60 HP. Not run by hydraulic s.

I watched several videos on this mulcher, it looks awesome. I don't believe you would have any problems running that with a 70HP tractor. I would imagine you would run it in low range/low gear for most situations.

Sorry guys the mulcher is either a seppi miniforst 200 or a FEA 175 both pto driven.

I think it would handle it fine. I looked at some brush cutting videos using the seppi mulcher on youtube and I've used a 7ft mower behind an M7040 and cut much of what I saw them cutting.

Sorry Raul, I immediately thought of a Skid steer type that are all hyd driven. My fault. I would think you'll be fine with the pto unit. I'd just be carefull about the "belly" of the tractor, there's little to no guarding down there for driving over heavier brush.

Thanks jcummins.... No problem rusty,, I found a m9960 low profile waiting for it to come back to the dealer. It is out on loan to a customer. It has the HP and looks like it might be low enough for me to get on board. I checked out the m7060 today at our local Kubota dealer and man those tractors are big ! 40" from ground to floor board. With a cab it might.just be too big. Still looking. Thanks gentlemen.

Jcummins,, what kind of brush were you clearing ? What gears were you running in ? Did your m70 keep up OK or did it bogg down ? Thanks again for your time guys.
