i am looking at a used m8950dt, anyone have any experiance with these? has 5500hrs and seems to be in nice shape

5500 hours can be compared to 275,000 miles on a road vehicle. Even if it has had all its scheduled maintenance its most trouble-free days are behind it. If it will be a second or third tractor around your farm then fine. As a sole machine, reliability and repair downtime may be an increasing issue.

i wouldn't of thought that 5500 hrs was that much on a big kubota

Having one with 6500 hours on it I find that the only problems with the tractor when traded in were from the former owners lack of tractor knowledge. The tractor has only had two clutches installed which was caused by the owner(the first might have shown some wear).

The tractor still starts with temps at 22 degree's below zero in the winter which shows the injection system needs nothing as well as the tractors compression is still strong.

As much as we see tractors failing at 5500 hours we see many with good care going past ten thousand hours on the tach with no problems!
