Guys,
Do you think my M9000 can handle a lift-type JD HX 14 mower. The rated lifting capacity is 5000plus lbs but tractordata says it can only lift 3500. The mower weighs 3000 but alot of that weight is behind the lifting point. Will have to put a PTO 1000 converter kit on. What do yo think?

I carry a JD1008 (10ft) with my M9540. My tractor weighs around 8K without FEL or weights. I'm not sure of cutter's weight but I doubt it's 3K, probably closer to 2,000 or maybe a little less. I usually remove the FEL. I built a weight rack and carry 850lbs of suitcase weights on front of tractor. I'm still light in the front. Especially if on a steep incline and pick up the cutter. I use a hydraulic toplink which lets me leave the rear wheels of the cutter on the ground if needed. For my needs a 3pt cutter fits me best. I'm a little concerned that your cutter selection is a bit large. But I don't know the specs of your tractor other than your offerings. My tractor is rated at 7200lb 3pt capacity. But that's not the problem, it picks it up fine. The problem becomes the stature of the tractor.

Sorry I couldn't find a picture of the cutter and tractor.

Here's a video of my tractor hooking to the cutter if interested. Click on the pic to start the video process. If you view it, watch how the tractor reacts when I pick up and sit down the cutter. You are talking about considerable more weight than I'm carrying.

i'd definitely research to find actual wt. of the machine. think the 3 pt is similar to the fel capacity in that there's the spec wt lift capacity but it does not take into acct how much wt is extended beyond the hitch itself. in your case, a lot! also, the owners manual should give implement wt capacities for a brush hog. are you on level ground? i would be hesitant on slopes with a machine like that. but...if everything checks out, would be quite a working machine!

Thanks guys,
I am on level ground. But I think it would be a 14 ft deck would be a bit much and i'd have to get the pto1000 conversion kit as well. I think its just a bit too much for the tractor even though I have a FEL attached for some ballast. Will try to find a 10ft hog. The BH3210 is only 300 lbs lighter but would be more maneuverable and scalp less.

I was looking for a BH3210 when I found my JD1008. They are known as a great cutter and would probably fit your tractor better. My Brother has a 20ft Bush Hog batwing. I can pull it with my tractor as far as PTO HP but it becomes a load in hill country. You might consider a pull type cutter if you are wanting more swath width.
