I am seriously considering one of these. I started out looking at the 9540 but it is a significantly smaller chassis than the M96.
Right now I am using a 4320 to pull a 12' cutting disc, 20' pulverizing disc and a 20' pulverizing disc. I am wondering how close to the edge of its envelope the M96S (95hp, 4wd, cab/air/ and FEL) would be as a "replacement" for my old 4320.
Anyone using an M96? or even the 9540? I would like someone's real world opinion on the capabilities of these tractors.
Thanks guys.

Not for nothing, why would you think that a 95 horsepower tractor would pull what you are now using a 125 horsepower tractor for?

Good question. I guess I should have clarified that all the tractors I am looking at are 4WD. My 4320 is rated at 116hp PTO and 104Hp drawbar(according to Tractordata) and is 2WD.
And yes, I understand the M96 is 95 Engine Hp. So therefore its PTO and drawbar ratings I would expect to be lower. However, I have had the experience that a 4wd tractor w/ a similar (or even less) hp rating will pull more than a 2wd tractor .
Example: I put my 51hp Mahindra in the shop and was given a 40hp Kubota (4x4) as a loaner. My mahindra was pulling a 6' offset disc with difficulty. The Kubota would not pull it in 2wd but in 4wd you didn't know the disc was back there. I have talked to several sho'nuff farmers around here who have had similar experieces when going from 2wd to 4wd (and some noting big differences when moving from rubber tire to track equipment)
That is sort of what I am trying to find out here... CAN I expect the M96 to pull these implements? or do NEED to move on up to the 108 or even the 125? I know very few people who have complained about a tractor being too big, and I am a believer in having power in reserve, but we are talking about several thousand dollars here.

A few things to think about . Kubota tractors in general weigh less than say a john deere or new holland of similar hp , also the cubic inch ( size of the engine ) is smaller on the kubota in the large ag tractors . See if they will let you demo one first before you buy

For tillage applications you'll want cast disk rims and some liquid balast to get the weight up, then go to it. Your logic is reality. The M96 is a great value tractor, its alot of machine for the money.

I would not consider the M9540, it is not intended for your type of load and doesn't weigh enough. The 95/96S are much heavier chassis like the JD's and NH's of similar *pto* hp.
