Does anyone subscribe to any good magazines on small farms in general, and also tractor magazines? What good magazines would you recomend? Do you think magazines would help us keep current with tractors and farming trends? Boy, that was a lot of questions for a little post!/w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Rich,

Subscribe no. Buy at the newstand, yes!
The following list:
Backwoods Home Magazine (has website)
Countryside magazine--I favor this over Backwoods Home
Back Home Magazine
Mother Earth -- for the yuppie puppie in me.
Small Farm Journal-- kinda fun once in awhile.

And for tractors, I just come here. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Farm Show is the most interesting magazine I get. No ads in the print version so products can really be diced, unfairly at times but in general refreshing. The ideas from farm workshops and new products from Oz , NZ and Europe are truely ingenious. The have a website and will send a free trial issue.

RichZ,

Here are the links for 2 magazines that I have seen advertised online. Both look interesting to me.

Small Farm Today
Successful Farming Magazine

Check out the archives section on line at Successful Farming, lots of info to be found there. Articles on business such as this one http://www.agriculture.com/sfonline/sf/1999/january/adapt/adapt4.html.
Author Robert Welsch is also contributing editor! I've got to say the subscription rate on this one looks pretty good too. The only thing cheaper would be to go down to the newsstand and read the magazines there./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
