I have a 2017 Mahindra 1538 shuttle with FEL. About 30 hours so far and no problems. When I bought it I didn't want to spend the money on factory remotes. Now I built a grapple and need to install remotes to run it. I bought a Prince 5100 series valve with power beyond installed and fabricated a mounting bracket for the valve that clamps to the ROPS. I've identified the power beyond coming out of the loader valve block and am pretty sure I know how to plumb that. My question is what options are there for the tank line? The tank line that comes out of the loader valve block is hard plumbed to the rear case with a steel line with no easy way to tee into it and I don't want to cut that line. Is there an unused port somewhere on the rear casting that I can plumb the tank return port on my remote valve to?

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry, I can't help you. Mine came with a backhoe so it differs. Maybe one of the tech/dealer types will chime in.

Thanks Dickfoster. Yeah hopefully someone in the know will chime in. There are several ports on the rear case that are plugged and I'm assuming that one or more of them are extra drain ports. Just want to be sure before I plumb my return into one.

Well I forgot to look at mine (sorry- I know remember your original post) and I’m gone for a week or so. I’m about 90% sure their is a 1/2” or 3/4” NPT plug on top of the case, right under the seat, that will work for the return.

If you have time to wait, or haven’t heard from anyone else, bump this in a week or so if you don’t see the plug I’m referring to.

Thanks. I'll check it out this weekend and see what I can find. I know there are at least two flush type hex drive plugs right near the 3 point lowering adjustment valve. I didn't take them out yet but assumed they were SAE O-ring type. Not sure if that's the one you're thinking? Anyway I can't dig into it until this weekend since the tractor is not at my house but rather 40 miles away at my rural acreage. That's probably a good thing otherwise I'd be playing with it every day

So I dug into things on the tractor today and I attached a few photos. I believe I've positively identified a port that is a drain to tank. It's on the hydraulic valve block for the loader valve. It's got a metric o ring plug in it which I removed and confirmed it's open to the hard line that goes from the loader valve back to the case. I also found the pipe plug in the top of the case about 4 inches in front of the top link pin. I also found two plugged ports on the case under the seat near the 3 point lowering speed adjustment valve. Attached are photos of each. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Andy. I’ll be back at my machine tomorrow night. I can post a video of my setup- it’s the same tractor and the same setup.

Not really voodoo  Just want to do a nice clean installation and want to be sure of all of my drain port options. Hoping someone chimes in this week since I plan to work on it over the weekend. If I could confirm that one the ports that is plugged right near the 3 point lowering valve is in fact a drain it would make that connection short and sweet! Once I do figure out this voodoo I'll post photos and descriptions of my remote install so others will have a basic pattern to follow assuming they don't want to spend the $900 on the factory kit:thumbdown:

I made a crude video that I will need to edit and post on YouTube. But in the mean time I can confirm the return line goes into the top of the gear case right under the seat. Their is a removable cover the the seat bolts to that will need to be removed. The cover comes off with 4 bolts and the seat pressure switch unplugged . The cover has the seatbelt and seat attached to it so everything will come off attached to this cover. Once that is off the return will be exposed.

Thanks RNeumann! I'll take the seat off this Saturday and take a look. I'm curious whether you installed the remote from a kit or did you piece it together like I'm am doing? One thing I have determined is that all of the hydraulic fittings on the tractor itself are of the JIS variety so I'll be adapting over to more readily available JIC type.

It was pieced together. I found several different style fittings on the machine- o ring, pipe etc. Once you figure out the fitting coming out of the loader control and the one going into the top of the case you should be able to run everything with the fittings you want.

IMG_1389.JPGRNeumann I attached a photo of the ports under the seat. There's 3 of them. I assume one of these is what you connected your drain to tank into. Is that correct and if so which one? Thanks.
