I have my mahindra 300 hours and I have lost my steering. Started to the left and now it is doing it both ways!
Unless you turn very fast it will not turn either way
2 dealers are telling me and a mobile mechanic is telling me that it’s the rotory valve!
I have been trying to find one but they can’t locate it.
I think that it is that part also. I have seen many complaints about them going out around 300 hours!
anyone tried to rebuild them. I ordered a oring kit what else might I need!

That should be a warranty issue i would think , I have the same tractor in 38 hp and have not heard of that problem on here from anyone. Keep us in the loop.

If you have a hydraulic cylinder providing the power to turn the front wheels, on other brands it is known that the piston seal can fail and oil bypasses the piston but does not leak externally.

Looking at an online 2545 photo it looks like there is a hydraulic cylinder between the two front wheels with each end of the cylinder connected to a front wheel.

The rotary valve is not known to fail in my experience and messing with its internals is not a job for the novice.

Most rotary valves have an internal manual pump called a Gerotor. This stand for generated rotor.

Its purpose is to retain control of the tractor steering if you are going down a hill and the engine stops. You can still steer but with much greater effort. There is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels unlike a car or truck.

Jack or lift the front wheels off the ground and with the engine off, turn the steering wheel and see if the front wheels turn.

If they do, this further points to an internal hydraulic cylinder piston seal leak and not the rotary valve.
