Mahindra 2655 vs 3550

Hi All,

I'm lurking about for my first purchase, and have sort of settled on the fact that most all of the sub/compact units could do the job. I've found a couple of interesting units for sale, the above models. Both are cab power shuttle units with FELs, so all things being equal, which would you pick? I have 25 moderately hilly wooded acres with several pastures to mow, maybe 5 acres or so. I'll also need to blow off my 1600 ft driveway in the winter, haul logs/wood around, blade and grade the drive. I'll also need to dig out some stumps and rebuild some stonework, so a backhow is likely in the future.

I notice the 3550 is bit wider and heavier. Is there much of difference between the two? (Besides HP) Any serious issues with either model?

the 2655 comes with chains, a rear mount 78"blower, filled tires and I can probably get the forks thrown in. The 3550 includes a box blade and a 20' trailer. $34k for the 2655 and $26K for the 3550. 160/450 hours respectively.

what say the masses?

Since you are a first time buyer, I'm curious what it is about the Mahindra that put it at the top of your list.

It would appear the 35 series doesn't support any snow blowers, from what I've read on the Mahindra website. true?

Isn’t the 3550 the one that has all the emissions problems.

It caught my attention (2655) as it looked large enough to do what I'm planning to do, and was ready to go for this winter with a good sized blower attachment. It also had much better lifting capacities compared to others I had researched, and no DEF to futz with. So a 1.5 yr old tractor at about $12k off list with minimal hours and no issues, according to the seller. He bought a skid steer and now needs the money out of this one.

It looks like the 3550 is going to be a pass, based on what I've read about that model. The one I was considering is a 2014. The trailer would've been nice.

BTW, I discovered you need a class A lic to tow a trailer >10,000 GVWR. Hefty fines if you get pulled over.

No tractors under 75hp use DEF. Tier 4 emissions limits are laxer under 75hp, and laxer again under 25hp. The machines between 25 and 75 use a DOC or a DPF (often with a DOC though you'll have to look at the parts list to see it). But no DPF like engines over 75hp use, and usually no EGR.
