Mahindra 3325
Hey all, I recently purchased a new home on several acres, and the house came with the prior owner's Mahindra 3325. I'm fairly new to anything larger than a residential riding lawnmower. The first few times that I took the 3325 out, it did just fine. Now it's starting to give me some issues, and I'm hoping that you all might have some suggestions. I've got what appear to be two problems, which may or may not be related:

First, nearly all of the gauges have stopped working. The tractor starts right up. The lights on the dash will come on, but the hour meter does not work, the tachometer does not work, and most of the gauges no longer do anything. The only exceptions to this is that - very occasionally - the fuel gauge will come on. Only slightly more "reliable" is the temperature gauge. Again, most of the time it does not come on, BUT when it does, the temperature registers in the red zone.

That brings me to my second problem, which is the possibility that my tractor is overheating. Given that my gauges are going crazy, I don't know if the occasional temperature reading I get from the dash is accurate or not. I've sprayed out the radiator to remove any dirt or seeds, and also replaced the thermostat, but these actions did not resolve the high temperature readings.

Any suggestions on where I should start would be appreciated. Thanks.

See if you can get a wiring diagram. Look at what wiring the guages have in common. The fact that they are all dead may make it easier to find the problem. Pull the cluster and carefully trace back the wiring harness. look for broken wire(s) and/or a short. The overheating thing can be put to rest by checking around with an IR temp gun. Coolant moving thru a clean system....you should be OK.

Your problems could also be rodent related. They love to snack on the insulation found in wires. They'll also build nests just about anywhere. Give the tractor a good optical going over.
