Mahindra 3540 vs 4530

I ended up getting a 3550. I used the $1000 discount for two implements to pick up a 6 ft medium duty rotary cutter (made by Kodiak) and a hay spear.

I like the 50 HP model better when picking between the 3540 and 3550. These are heavy tractors, and the extra HP is always nice. But then again, can we ever have too much HP?

I'm glad I went with the 50 over the 40. The 3550 tractor, loaded tires, FEL, and 6ft medium duty cutter add up to around 8,000 lbs. according to the guy that delivered my tractor. I have a moderately steep hill on the road between my house and my farm. I have to shift down from 4th to 3rd in high range to make it up the hill. I bet I would have to go down to 2nd with the 3540. I'm sure the extra 10 hp will come in handy on the farm itself too.
