Mahindra 3550. Heavy tractor, Mahindra built in India, No DPF, good dealer nearby, good pricing, great warranty, company has been around for 50+ years, one of the largest HP CUT's available with both power shuttle & HST transmission.
Already picked an LS. It was $6,000 less than the nearest competitor with similar weight/hp and options. LS comes with 2 rear remotes. I was quoted $1800 for the second remote from Mahindra. Wayyy too much for adding a remote.
The higher prices support the dealerships and probably well worth it if your not handy with a wrench.
I too went with an LS the exact model your interested in. Great machine even though I did have a freak incident with my PTO wire shorting out on my clutch linkage this tractor has been great so far (42 hrs) plenty of power, quite, sips fuel and will wade through 5ft weeds with a 6ft bush hog and not bat an eye. Loaded the rear tires on mine and it has more then enough *** to get a full bucket of rock without feeling tippy. The biggest selling point for LS for me was the amount of tractor you get for a much less price then anyone else in the market and 5yr warranty.
Yes the new 25xx series are made by TYM for Mahindra. The 3550 is a different class tractor than the other two. It is much heavier thus HP to weight ratio is much lower compared to the other two. The Mahindra may not have a DPF but it does have a DOC and Mahindra has had some issues with the EGR's on the new MCRD engine design. I would choose the one that fits you best with the most reliable dealer.
