Mahindra 4110 FEL vs 4530 FEL

I am asuming he is refering to the starter shorting out and the tractor moving on the starter only.

That happened to a friend of mine with a Case farm tractor.
It run itself accross the yard and up against the barn before they could get it stopped.

I have never heard of a Mahindra doing that but it could happen to any machine.

Tim,

Not sure where you are but there are two good Mahindra dealers near Nashville. One is in Goodlettsville, or Ridgetop. She has Massey & Mahindra and could help you compare at the same dealership.

Massey does not currently carrry the "GT" series which I think are made in Italy. I haven't bought from her, but was there yesterday and she seemed to be very competitive. If you are east of Nashville, toward Lebanon and beyond I know the dealer in Alexandria - is a good dealer(Mahindra) albiet small. Used to work for our company - is a good guy.

AGCO has some excellent products(the GT 55 is a very nice looking tractor Utility size tractor but not available in a Massey) and I like Mahindras also. May be buying one or the other Massey/AGCO soon. There seem to be more Massey dealers in my area.

Good luck

I live in Southeast Lousiana and Liberty Tractor in Liberty MS is about thirty minutes from my house. I too have got the same response from them. I have been looking for a tractor for a couple of years now and started off with Liberty. At first, Mahindra was the best thing on the market, this is when they were selling primarily Mahindra. Last year I went up there and another salesman told me about the jump starting thing on the 4110. The way I understood him it was due to the tractor being shut down but parked on an incline and started rolling which caused it start up in gear with the key off. His account was it actually injured the operator who was on the ground in front of it at the time. This sounds like an urban legend to me. I asked all the local dealers about it and no one has ever heard of it.
I was also told that Liberty Tractor is not in good standing with Mahindra due to service problems, which Liberty is famous for, and that Mahindra may be pulling out soon.
I hate to bash a dealer, but this one has left a bad taste in my mouth and I have too many customers that have personally complained to me about them to back it up.
I personally decided to go with the 4530 and am actually picking it up tomorrow from Singleton's Equipment in Franklinton, LA. They cut the best deal and threw in the most perks compared to the other local dealers. I hope I made the right choice about the tractor, I know I made the right choice about the dealer. I wouldn't give Liberty another thought.

I'd also be concerned about a dealer who can't spell his product's name...did you notice he spelled Mahindra as "Mahindria" in his E-mail.
