Mahindra 4110
Need your help. I have had the dealer change it before but I have moved away and need to do it myself. How does the bowl come off, do I uncrew the top ring or does the bowl unscrew from the ring...thanks for your help

Don't know about yours but the 2nd filter was a bosch spin on while the 1st filter with the paper element had a bolt you unscrewed from the top. Both manuals were unclear so I had to discover this on my own. After trying too much force for to long I finally gave up trying to spin the 1st filter off and finally figured the center bolt out. BTW the procedure to bleed air out of the system after you get the filters changed was also bogus. They also neglected to mention that removal of the first filter results in draining the fuel tank. My machine is a 1538 so I am not so sure of how it's done on a 4110 but doubtless your manual cannot be trusted to be accurate nor sufficient in detail.

Am I the only person that has a fuel shut off on the tank? I have a 4540 and if you follow the fuel line from the first filter to the tank, you, or at least I find a small valve, at least I think it is a valve. I have not tried it yet but it sure looks like a valve.

Well mine surely doesn't have one. Not that it's going to stay that way.

Yes, the large ring is a very fine-threaded nut and can be very difficult to remove and reinstall, or sometimes it goes just fine. Removing it will let the polycarbonate bowl drop off and the pleated cartridge filter slips down off the pipe it's on. You'll see the large "O" ring come down with the bowl too. Do not clean the bowl with carb spray or similar as it will cloud the bowl permanently (guess how I know ), just rinse with clean diesel and wipe with a clean rag. push the new cartridge up on the pipe and reinstall the bowl, "O" ring and nut being very careful not to cross-thread that nut - the last one I bought was $18 plus shipping !!! I've never had to bleed anything when just changing this filter on my 4110, mine always started and just self-bled. My tractor has the shutoff valve right on the filter housing, no other shutoffs on the whole tractor.

Once I changed that filter a few times on my 3510, the bowl would not seat and dripped fuel. After a while, I removed that junky filter and installed a Inline filter.
Change it at every service. Cheaper as well.

Yes, I have done the same thing to mine, just didn't mention it in my other post. I keep small amounts of diesel on hand and keep it all good & clean, no real need for a sediment bowl for mine (no water ever in my fuel). That fuel bowl assembly was crap, always had a little seepage no matter what you did. I've got about a dozen 5/16" metal fuel filters left over from my old shop that I now use.

I agree, My fuel is twice filtered. Goldenrod Water filter on fuel pump from tank and a mesh filter in funnel when fueling.
Really focus on keeping good clean fuel for tractors as PM rather than dealing with fuel issues.
