If the TC40 has the new style curved arm FEL on it, then there is no comparison between the 2 tractors, the TC would win hands down.

I have a Kubota and a NH and over the last week I spent several hours on several days on the Kubota with the big flat hood and the square loader arms. Up until last week I would have sworn that Kubota was the tractor to beat. Well I have to tell you, the sloped and curved hoods on the NH tractors, combined with the curved arms on the FELs offer a sight line that nothing else can compare to. It is much easier to do work when you can see what you are doing, and that also makes if faster and safer at the same time. I didn't know what I was missing until I did a lot of work, some may say that they can work fast without seeing what they are doing, but after spending a lot of time doing, I can tell you that the new style FELs and the curved sloped hoods on the NH tractors are the best out there.

As for other comparisions, I would ask are the tractors Apple-to-Apple in terms of features? Do both have HST or Gear transmissions? What about 3pt controls? What about the dealers . . . which has a better reputation, parts department, warrenty, etc? I've never had either of my tractors break, but I wouldn't buy from a good dealer (just in case).

Bob,

Just out of curiosity, how many times do you think that you've provided this information in the last....oh.....say.....month?

It seems to me that it's been at least 5 or 6? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Have you made it easier on yourself and saved this information? That way you can just cut and paste it in to a response? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Don't get me wrong here! I'm not knocking you. I'm amazed that anyone would be so patient as to type in the same information as many times as you have. I think I might have just been tempted to post a link to one of the responses.

I think it's a credit to your patience and your concern for imparting good, quality information to those of us who need help!

Golfgar4 . . . I have a 9 year old daughter who says "WHY" on a constant basis, I have to be patient!!!

As for providing the same information, yes I have, when I think it is relavent, and I believe each time it was done under a different forum when a question has been asked about FELs or about a couple different brands of tractors. And you will notice, that the same question was posted about the Mahindra VS NHTC40 in 2 different forums but I only posted my answer once. And I also did ask several questions about other factors that would also sway my mind against or in favor of any brand.

Am I an advocate of the new NH curved FEL? Absolutely. But if you are not going to use the tractor for a lot of FEL work . . . of if the dealer is not a good one . . . or if the budget doesn't allow it . . . or a host of other reasons . . . then I would opt for something else. I'm pretty much color blind when it comes to tractors with one exception, I like OLIVER GREEN not JD GREEN. But my bias against JD is clearly stated as a bias against my local dealer. And my bias for Oliver is simply a nostalgic one as I am a member of the Hart-Parr Oliver Collectors Association. I love my yellow Cub, I love my orange Kubota, I love my blue NH, and I have a Ventrac on its way to my house for a test drive . . . so lets see if I learn to love Ventrac red & white. Basically I love what works, what does what it should do, and MOSTLY what does the job BETTER than something that does the job in a so-so manner; I don't really care what brand it is and I have advocated the strong points of each brand and I think I have been fair in my criticism of the weak points of each brand I own.
