2004 Mahindra 4110
I have a 2004 Mahindra and as of yesterday it won't start. If i turn the key i hear a relay chatter ( i think either the signal light one or another one beside that. If I turn on glow plugs a relay by the horn chatters. I looked at the ground and battery connections. everything looks ok. I am still leaning toward it being a grounding issue. Any ideas?

The battery terminals and ground on the frame are always a good place to start.

Yeah, pulled them all apart. some corrosion on posts. Cleaned them up and put everything back. no change.

Have you fully charged the battery and/or replace it? Mine did some of the same with a bad battery

Did you clean the ground on the frame? That seems to be a common spot that breaks connection.

I also changed the battery terminals on my 2565 early on. That helped a lot.

took ground apart again today cleaned it and lubed with conductive never sieze. checked everything with multimeter. The ground is ok, or at least it is now. Still not getting anything out of starter. The relays are quiet now when i turn the key but buzz for a few seconds after i turn it to off. It may be the switch.

Battery seems fine, both checking with multimeter and with a "smart" charger

My 2810 will do that if i dont push the clutch in real hard. Make sure the pto isnt engaged. But it sounds like a dead battery

Have a new to us used 5010 that has done this a coople of times. Not sure as i havent fully investigated but throttle cable / actuator may be an issue. On the 5010 the throttle lever is attached to an electronic actuator which in turn moves the fuel pump throttle via a separate cable ...
After one recent no start i noticed that the cable to the pump was out of place (end of cable jacket by fuel pump was not in the end cup) but once i popped it back in she fired right up. It happened again shortly after but seemed to resolve once throttle lever was fully returned to idle ...will continue to monitor .....
