Mahindra 450 info

I recently purchased a Mahindra 450 2WD tractor. Where could I purchase filters (oil, gas, etc) and an operator’s manual from?

Further, could someone provide me with some specs on this tractor and possibly the year along with a readers digest explaination on what the two knobs do on either side of hydrualic plate situated beneath seat?

Serial # SX 1256.

sorry nobody has replied, are you sure this is not a 4500, i have never herd of a 450, maybe one of the 0's got scratched off. if it is a 4500 let us know, they are some good tractors, i know i have one.

no roll bar, i bets its mahindra india instead of mahindra usa, i bet you got a good price, it looks very simular to the 4500. is it 3 cylinder? 42 hp? look on the engine for data plates.

Mahindra used an older IH design for the hydraulics, so I'm familiar with them from my IH tractors. The knob on your right under the seat is an "isolator" valve. Closing it cuts off flow the the 3 point lift cylinder under the top cover. Just to the center of the valve you will see a large hex head plug. If you remove it and install a line to the rear you can have a hydraulic port to use one-way cylinders such as found on older discs, etc. On the IH tractors it is actuated by closing the islator valve and moving the position control lever beyond the stop on the quadrant.

The smaller knob on the left is a two speed selector for the lift speed. When pushed in and turned 1/4 turn it restricts some of the flow to the hitch lift.

A Mahindra dealer should be able to provide the filters for you. Once you have one it shouldn't be difficult to match up a stock oil filter at an autoparts store, that way you have a ready supply.
