Mahindra 4500 4WD black smoke

IF an injector was stuck open, it wouldn't start because your FORCING air INTO THE PUMP.. instead of fuel into the engine.{at cranking}
Are there any "noises" associated w/ the smoke.??
IF a nozzle is stuck open & dumping fuel into a cylinder, it typically "hammers".. {a very loud knocking noise}..
