Mahindra 5035 busted hood latch

Any one else busted the hood pull cable button off from just above the tire ? I think mine came off during some aggressive brush moving and clearing. I will try to track down a replacement and then maybe weld up a little cage around it to protect it.

Yes its in a area prone to being caught. A couple of times I have had to bend it back into place. Thus far it has not be damaged enough to snap it off. I often thought it should be protected. I like your idea.

I haven't, but I've got it awful dirty and had twigs and such hanging from it a few times. Enough to make me remember it is down there while operating and operate it a bit less 'rambunctiously'.

Some sort of small "skid plate" might be a nice addition.

busted mine too, dealer fixed it for nothing while it was there for other warranty work
