Mahindra 5500 4wd steering cylinder removal

In need of some help, I'm trying to remove my steering cylinder from my 5500 & I can't figure out how to remove the pin that is holding the cylinder on the inside towards the center of the front axle. It looks like a allen head screw is holding the pin but I don't have any allen wrench that will fit. Is this an allen screw?

After taking some pictures, it doesn't look like this is an allen head screw. It is round on the inside. Do I just use a small punch to knock it out so that the pin will come out?http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif See attached photos.

That is what it looks like from the picture. Try to tap lightly first see if it moves.

Very old thread but thought I would reply anyway.

Yesterday I was having exactly the same issue on a 6500 4WD.

My solution was to simply take an appropriately sized drift and drive the roll pin all the way through.

The next issue is that to get the larger pin out your would want to drive it down but there is no way to get above it to do that. So I just drove it straight up and out.

Both of the above completed without issue after an overnight set after blowing it al lclean and giving it a good soak with Penetrating Blaster.

Now to get the cylinder rebuilt...

My only remaining worry is it seems like it is going to be a little difficult to get all the holes aligned properly to get that retaining roll pin back in there. No way to really grab the large pig to twist it to alignment and no way to really tap it downwards if you drive it too far in. I guess slow and steady with a tapered spud to align the holes.
