This tractor and backhoe are my sole livelihood right now and I can't afford to be running to the rental store for a JD110 each time the 509 falls a little short on a paying job.

It looks like it wouldn't take too many rentals of the JD110 to pay for the PTO pump for your setup.

Correct. No more than about 3 days worth. That's why I'm saying that this tough backhoe job coming up is going to make the decision for me. If the 4110+509 combo performs well enough, no more talk of a PTO pump. If the 4110+509 combo falls short and causes me to have to rent the JD110, the PTO pump project goes full steam ahead. Simple as that.

Only problem is the job is a good 1-1/2 hours each way (in tow mode) from the lakeside resort! Sure wish you were closer at times like this. I could use a little professional-grade back-up from time to time! :)

So Dougster, how did the BH perform for you. I read the GPM on the 4110 is not quite 8gpm. So if it was ok for you then it should be fine with the 5525.

Back to my first post. I asked what was the composition of the 5525 as Mahindra has partnered with various motor and tranny productions in the past. I got my answere the other day from a dealer and that is that Mahindra has designed and produced them both for that model. It is their own version. It still meakes me wonder if it is a copy of a previous partnership, e.g. Ford/New Holland, John Deer/ Yanmar, etc...
It will only matter when I have to replace parts, hope not, as the availability of them. Looking forward of taking delivery at end of this month.

Now I will have to build an addition to my garage so I can house the Massey and the new arrival both. Hope they'll get along under the same roof.

That would be International they partnered with.

The 4110 is currently rated at 9.5 GPM and has supposedly been that way for quite a while... since before my late-2004 production machine was built in fact. The paperwork took a while to catch up with the physical change, but we have verified the pump size as 9.5 GPM on my machine.

Those backhoe jobs I spoke of are happening this week. One is a real nasty one. By the end of the week I will either be very happy with my 4110+509... or I will have a PTO pump on order... or I will have a JD110 (or similar) on order.

Stay tuned!!! ;)

We loaded a 5525 and a backhoe on a truck heading north to a dealer in Washington. Left about 5 pm today. I suspect that might be yours?
