I've just joined this forum to get some help with this problem, which I see is a fairly common issue with Mahindra tractors.
The tractor in question belongs to my gliding club and is used for maintaining 30 acres of grass runways. The fuel gauge, temperature gauge, tachometer and the digital hour meter all do not work. The oil pressure and ignition warning lights both work as do the various other indicator lights.
I've driven this tractor for over 40 hours in the last two years and I've never seen the gauges work, although I have been told that other drivers have seen them occasionally work. A couple of years ago, the instrument cluster was opened up and heat-shrink tubing was applied to the stop posts.
We are planning to open the instrument cluster up again and have another look. I would appreciate any tips.
The wiring diagram in the manual is not terribly useful since it is only schematic and a very odd thing is there is no indication on the diagram of a wire related to the tachometer, nor is there any RPM sensor shown. However looking at the wiring for the temperature an oil pressure gauges, I suspect it might be a ground issue.
Does anyone have access to an actual wiring diagram instead of the useless schematic?
The tractor is quite often left out in the open so I suspect that might be part of the problem.
