Mahindra 5570

Thanks for the reply. And yeah I've seen that one. That's about all I can find review wise on the new tractors. Which I guess is a good thing. I really believe people are gonna post the negatives over Positives and if that's all I can find I guess That's not a bad thing. But I do agree it specs out well

My dealer sells Mahindra, New Holland, and Kubota. The Mahindra and New Hollands spec out pretty close in the same range tractors. Both are made in India. The Mahindra weighs a little more and has a little longer wheel base. The FEL on the NH lifts more but has a smaller engine using the same technology for emissions. The NH uses a Fiat engine. Fiat owns 80% of New Holland Ag. Makes sense to me. At the time I could buy the Workmaster at a lower cost than the 5555.

If you have a good dealer for support the 5570 would serve you well. It is a good sized utility tractor.

Im not familiar with the 5570 but from what i can tell is its just a 6530 with common rail injection. I have a 6530 and it is a real beast but it is REALLY loud. I wouldnt hesitate buying a 5570 im sure its a quieter more refined version of the 6530 that has a 7 year warranty.

I actually made the purchase in December! So far I am very pleased with it. It really seems to be strong machine. I've only got around 12 hours on it but soon will be working it regularly.

I'll try to keep the post updated on any issues if any. So far all I've done is wired a battery tender harness and added a cup holder.

I'd rank each of those sets of work based on priorities.

How much discing do you think you will be doing?

How much box-blading?

These two are ground-engaging, and ground-engaging work tends to favor higher-powered and heavier machines. Mahindras would certainly be more favorable: I wouldn't, however, look past MF (always king of the heavyweights)!

For infrequent work one can always look to rent equipment. OR, tackle given work with one tractor and then as time progresses sell that tractor and get something different: never place yourself in a corner about never looking to buy another tractor, as that may limit you on doing what you really want to do.

If you're not doing crop work then I don't think that discing is really necessary (and even then). My notion of land management is embodied in what Will Harris (and others similar to him) do:

Are you figuring on a cabbed tractor?

Hey DeiselBound. I found that video very interesting. Thank you for posting it. I shared it with my wife, who wants to get chickens next, now that she has a couple horses. And then maybe a few sheep or other smaller animals. I also shared it over on another forum that I frequent called firewoodhoardersclub.com. An interesting site if you heat with firewood or pellets. Good bunch of guys over there as well. Thanks again.
