Thanks for your help. My tractor (Mahindra e-max 22) is stuck in 4WD. It has gotten stuck in 4WD frequently ever since I got it new (2015). I would let it sit for a day and I could get it back into 2WD. The dealer was informed of the problem but they kept telling me that there is nothing they could do because if they come and pick it up then I would have to pay hundreds of dollars for the transportation if there isn稚 a 菟roblem? And of course there wouldn稚 be a problem when they tried to fix because it would go back into 2WD after sitting a day. Then the defected muffler broke, for the 2nd time. They came and picked it up and I told them to look at the 4WD. The tech I spoke to said he greased something up because it looked like it was never done before and it worked fine until now. My question is, what could have been greased up to fix this problem? Sorry about the rant, I have had so many problems with this thing. Note, in order to change from 2WD to 4WD I slowly drive forward in 1st low and push the lever to 4WD per the instructions.
Thank you,
Eric

Not sure on what they may have greased other than linkages.
However to due wheel/axle lag, difficulty coming out of 4wd is common. There are a few tricks to try:
1) lube any linkage you can
2) ensure your tranny is full of hydraulic fluid as this will be the lube internal for shifting portions inside the tranny housing
3) try steering L&R before trying to disengage 4wd has it changes the stress on the front axle
4) try backing up several yards and try disengaging 4wd
5) try not to be in 4wd on hard pack or firmer surfaces. This would be hard packed ground where slippage can not happen and never on concrete or asphalt.

When I bought my YM yanmar, no one involved in my purchase had any ideal when it was last in 2wd. It took lots of effort of the above to get it to shift as well as a lever extension to get it to move, but now shifts although backing up is sometimes required.

The transmission fluid is full and it has been changed a couple times. I have tried everything, and I mean everything to get it out of 4WD. All different speeds, reverse, left and right. I frequently drive over a berm, which is kinda steep, could that be the problem? Do you know if I have to remove the back left tire to get to the linkage. I have never dealt with linkage/gears but I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty.
Thank you

My Branson sometimes gets stuck in 4wd because the drivetrain is bound up just enough to make the gears stick. Usually backing up a few feet takes care of it. Sometimes I resort to lifting the front tires off the ground using the loader.
