Mahindra eMax 25 idle rpm

I had to replace a washer on the throttle lever of my Mahindra Emax 25, I don稚 remember it idling as high as it does now. I don稚 believe it has anything to do with what I did because even with the throttle cable loosened all the way it idles around 1300 RPM, is that normal for this tractor? I found a thread here about another Mahindra idling high, but not this high.l

That seems high. Mine idles at 900 or so but I always run it up a bit higher till is smoothes out.

The question I have is why did you need to change a (that) washer??

Thanks for the reply, I never got an email so I thought nobody answered yet . I just left the dealer, they looked at it and did think it was a little high, but didn稚 think they could do anything about it because they said Mahindra doesn稚 give them control over the computer. We did check another model they had, and it idled at 1100, mine is around 1250 to 1300. They said it痴 not too high that it would hurt anything.

The washer I replaced had broke in half, and it was the friction washer on the throttle handle

I gotta call hog wash on that one.. ANY authorized dealer w/ a service dept is required to have the scan/diagnostic too,l which allows them to "get in" & have control over the system.!!! The dealer might not of wanted to "pony up" the money for the tool..they aint free or cheap..
How in the world is he gonna service the machines?? Is he a new dealer?

I’ll call another dealer and talk to them, this dealer made it sound like they had a computer, but Mahendra didn’t give them control over certain things and this was one of them. They seem like they know what they’re doing, and I know people that like this dealer, I hope they’re not just saying it because they are too cheap to actually fix it

I'm not a diesel guru, that said... I don't think the computer controls much on the eMax engine. On every diesel I've seen the idle is controlled on the pump. There's a stop screw that limits low idle.

I've never seen one, so you might be right..
I am experienced in "fly by wire" technology.. which has found its way into the AG market..
& they don't have low idle screws.
IF the posters tractor has any kind of mechanical linkage on his fuel system, he more than likely has a low idle screw..
IF its a true, "fly by wire" {computer controlled}.. he wont..

Correction: I just ran it yesterday on a job. I thought to look at the RPM guage after it warmed up. If you can belive the guage it reads about 1100 at idle.

Idle speed should be 1100 RPM. Higher will not hurt. In fact it will save your muffler from breaking. FYI there is no diagnostic tool for the EMAX engine. Blink codes will be displayed on the dash. :thumbsup:

They did say the stop screw was set at the factory. I知 ok leaving it if it isn稚 going to hurt anything. It痴 just strange that it痴 higher than it used to be.
