I'm coming up on my 50 hour service on my 2538 and its a rainy day so I thought I would at least change the fuel filters today. What fricking idiot designed fuel filters you cant get a filter wrench on and runs lines where you cant get your hands around them. I had a john deere 4400 for many years and everything was accessible when it came time to service it. Don't get me wrong I love my new machine but even the manual is worthless. Anyways I got them changed and primed good to go. But looking at everything else has anybody had trouble getting the hydraulic screen out past the loader frame? I started a post awhile back and somebody posted he had to take one of the pedal linkages off and got it out. has anybody had trouble changing this screen?

Unless it was made in India, (2538 is Korean), the tractor is a buy out speced tractor. Mahindra did not engineer it. "Badge Engineering, someone designed the nameplates and decals"

Kubota is a vertically integrated company. Sometimes that is a good thing, sometimes not, but at least Kubota is to blame or praise for Kubota.

I do know that the 2540, my tractor, is a TYM, but with a Mahindra engine. The oil filter isn't in the best place, and several other things are a bit of a mess, likely from shoe-horning in an engine for which the chassis wasn't designed. It looks like a modern car under the hood!
Also note that these aren't built with the loaders and backhoes (in fact, the loader frame was changed when my backhoe was added), and those things weren't considered (obviously) when the tractor was designed. Not well integrated. Runs fine and does the work, however!

I just hope next weekend when I drop the hydro fluid I can get my screen out without dropping the loader frame. I bought a shop manual that's not much help either.

My cabelas/Tym 25hp has the hydraulic filter in the worst place. Round end, no flats to get an end wrench on it, can't get a band wrench on it worth a darn. Oil filter is fine. Fuel strainers are OK.

On mine, dropping the loader frame would be trivial once the loader and backhoe are off. I think I can still get to everything, it's just really tight as it is.
