Been a long time Kubota fan and owner, have a L3830 40hp Kubota and its been great, very reliable and for what I've put it through I'm impressed but its time to upgrade! Looking at Mahindra 50-60 hp haven't priced them out yet but if there alot cheaper than Kubota I might go for one. I've done some business with the local Mahindra dealer as well as Kubota, like the look of the Mahindra but have yet to try one. Are they up for boulder moving? Seems like alot of homeowners have them but I'm wondering if they are strong enough for steady use and big projects; will be getting a mini excavator @ some point so the bucket loader tractor will be a secondary machine, moving stone, gravel, logs, etc., Reliability is a major concern, power, switching implements,
Any one using a Mahindra for beyond home owner projects? Thanks much for any info!

Suggest you go back a couple of years worth of posts to answer your questions. I would also suggest you look at the Indian built Mahindras for 50+ HP units. As far as strength is concerned; I'm not sure but I think my 6000 (59HP) could pick up your Kubota in the bucket and take it away....(not bragging here, but the 6000 weighs as much as most other 75-80HP units buy other makers..) Good luck on your search. BobG in VA

You mentioned in your other thread that you wanted a cab. Does Mahindra offer a 50-60hp cabbed tractor? You might want to post in the Owning/Operating area. The Buying/Pricing forum only gets about one new post once a week.

I started my pond with my 6520 4wd with a ML275 loader just pushing dirt like a bulldozer:D and making a basin. She was up to the task.:) I stopped pushing dirt and started using the backhoe because my pond was too narrow to continue pushing dirt and turning around in the basin. A larger pond would have been easier.;) You can check out that project here :cool:http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/projects/135413-i-finally-started-my-pond.html

No, I haven't used my 2008 Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 45 hp pto, 2WD, gear tranny 8F/2R, power steering) beyond work around my 10 acre place (discing, plowing, grain drilling, etc). It has the ML250 FEL (6-ft wide bucket, 2980 lb lift to 10.5 ft height). The FEL has the skid steer quick attach option. And the bucket has chain hooks welded on by the dealer.

I had the dealer install triple remotes ($750) on the right rear fender.

Total cost was about $20K.
The FEL bucket is pretty stout, but if you're going to be lifting boulders, you might want to weld some stiffeners on the lip and maybe on the sides.

If you prefer a fully synchronized tranny, Mahindra has the 6025 (59 hp engine, 49 hp pto).

Good luck.

If you price the standard series Kubota M's (5640SU,7040SU,etc) I think you'll find little of any pricing advantage with Mahindra.

Is Kubota offering 0% financing for up to 72 months and do they offer a standard 5 year powertrain warranty?

Things to keep in mind.

Pound for pound per horsepower..........how does a M series compare to Mahindra's? Kubota's spec sheet on their website doesn't show tractor weights. But the 3PH lift weights for the two models you mention are weak compared even to Mahindra's old 00 series tractors. Not even mentioning the 30 series, including the 4530. They do lift more than Mahindra's 25 series (2WD) .;)

I'm still waiting for someone to show me-us a tractor that specs out better than the 7520. Back when I was looking-comparing, you had to go up 1 or 2 sizes with all the other tractors that I had looked at to get an all around superior spec machine. Maybe things have changed in the last few years?

Speaking of 7520s, there is a used one down in Conroe Texas, just waiting for a proud owner to steal it.
