I bought a new Mahindra about 2 months ago, and it has a KMW loader. I've got about 20 hours on it now.
In general, I am very happy with the loader. With that said, my tractor had only about 5 hours on it before I started welding on the loader bucket.
The pistons and loader arms are great. They are very well matched to the tractor.
But, I sure thought the bucket was a little wimpy. The first thing I did was get some angle, and weld it over the top bucket lip -- it deformed when I dumped the first bucket full of loose topsoil that had some big roots in it. I was surprised at how easy it was to bend it back into shape.
Right now, I have a bunch of flat stock leaning against the barn wall, next to my welder. I bought the steel a few nights ago to weld to the sides and bottom of the bucket before I go out bend up the bucket again. Basically, the thickness of the top lip, the entire bottom behind the cutting lip, and the front sides will all be doubled in thickness. This would be a minimal cost during manufacture. I'm not sure why KMW, or Mahindra, doesn't already do this.
Other than that, I am thrilled with the performance of the Mahindra and the loader. I had never before used a joystick loader -- it took about fifteen minutes to learn how to overload the bucket and pop stumps that shouldn't have been popped!
Good luck,
Knute
