Mahindra mpower 85 problems

I have two problems with a 2016 Mpower 85 tractor. First issue is the tractor is running hot. Now I use it to mow hay and I know it gets dusty but I clean all the filters and blow out the radiator with air before starting. I think it might be a thermostat. Second issue is the A/C doesn't cool. It blows air fine and the Freon looks to be full. One thing I havent tried is cleaning the coil up in the cab (I think that's where they are located, please correct me if I'm wrong) Thanks in advance for yalls feedback

The radiator & condenser are in the same spot so are you SURE they are clean ? Are you SURE the fan is blowing air across them ? The charge in a mobile a/c unit is measure by weight. The ONLY way to verify the charge is to recover & weigh the refrigerant. Set that aside for now, you will still need to hook up a manifold gauge set to see where your at. Once the compressor kicks in, you should see mid 30s on the low side and the high side will be ambient x 2.2~2.5 or reasonably close to it. Should you see high side high 300s... well that means poor condenser air flow or restricted refrigerant flow. The poor airflow is easily verified by misting water on the condenser while the system is on. If you see the high side drop like a stone, you found the problem. ***An a/c does not produce cold air. It removes heat (by the evaporator core) in your cab and dumps heat at the condenser. The result is of removing heat = cold. A dirty evap coil will certainly cut cooling but I don't see how it could get that dirty being only 2yrs old. Good luck.

What are you blowing the radiator out with? you need about 120psi got get it all out

This is why I come here, to get solutions from the pros. Thanks to both of yall. Should I get a cleaning chem for the radiator and condenser? Also would it be ok to pressure wash them?

120# air pressure or a pressure washer can fold up the fins in a heart beat, a soapy water gently sloshed into the heat exchangers or heat exchanger cleaners spraying and then rinsed out will do the job with less chance of damage. Using an air hose is the easiest just watch what you are doing, try and clean in the opposite direction your fan moves the air most compacts are puller fans so blowing or clean will be most effective from the engine side of the radiator.

Do not put water through it..... unless your gona pulling the radiator off to fully wash it out you will only get it half clean... then whats left will concrete inside of the radiator... we use 120psi and air comb on every single tractor that comes through this shop... it 100% will no no damage to a radiator

R134a what would think if you were seeing a negative number on the low side with compressor running, high side 300 psi?? I'm guessing your a HVAC man ? :confused3:

If its really reading a negative number with the compressor on, the system is likely to grenade itself. Perhaps you made a mistake ?

Oil circulates with the refrigerant. The compressor will starve at at certain point. Thats why they put a low- side pressure cutoff switch. A lot of them are set to 23+/- 1 psi

I use an electric leaf blower which works great hahaha. Tractor stays pretty clean. Scag mower gets covered in filth after 1 mow. Cars get the radiator and condensor caked with flying insects. I have used Calgon ? commercial coil cleaner. I really think DAWN works better. Only use the hose on shower setting. Do the best I can which is much better than nothing. Bounce light behind the coil & If I can see it from the front I'm good to go.

Make sure the area between the condenser and radiator is clean.

Hi,

We bought 5 of these for roadside mowing in 2014. We just took the last three to the auction and replaced them with 5085 Deere machines. Both of these issues were things we could never seem to rectify for more than a day or two either with our fleet mechanics or the dealer. Good luck I hope you can figure them out. Ours had 600-800 hours on them.
