Hello everyone,
I found TBN through a Google search and it is nice to
meet the Mahindra owners in the U.S.

I own two Mahindra tractors (B275 and B575) and use them
in rice and sugar cane farming and to haul loads as high as
10 tons. Mahindra is one of the best in India among others
such as Massey Ferguson, John Deere, Swaraj, Eicher, HMT
and Ford. Mahindra sold close to 50,000 tractor last year in
India.

Both the machines are highly reliable and works great for me.

B275, 23 years old and still running good!
B575 DI, 4 years old (higher fuel efficiency & more power)

Regards,
Kumar

Nice to here from someone with long term experience with the Mahindras. They have only been availible here for 10-15 years. Also nice to here that it is a positive experience. I am not familer with the model numbers you list. Is there a equivelent US model? Go to www.mahindrausa.com to find our models.

I though Indias market was closed to outside manufactured tractors. That must not be the case.

Those tractors are all made in India. Massey by TAFE,Ford by Farmtrac(now Escorts) and Deere by L&T/deere. The other brands mentioned are Indian built also.

Kumar, have you seen the new 00 series or are they just marketed overseas?

The Mahindra "00" series is actually called the Arjun series in India. Not too sure about them getting the mfd versions there though.

Thanks Charlie and Froggy.
Indian auto market were opened to foreign manufacturers
in 1990's. We do have a lot of players in the market now
such as Ford, GM, Mercedes Benz, Suzuki, Honda, Toyota,
BMW, Hyundai, etc., Most of them has a plant in here for manufacturing.
Some of them just do assembly only.

Woodbeef is correct. Mahindra has separate models well
suited for indian farm operations. Some of the models
has US equivalent.

Check out the following sites for the models sold in India
