Mahindra parts availability?

I just purchased a Mahindra 4110 with 1,200 hours made by TYM. It has two scored cylinders with low compression. My local Mahindra dealer in the Charlottesville area didn't have oversize pistons and rings OR cylinder sleeves, so I called Mahindra USA and spoke to several people there. There I was told that Mahindra didn't make oversize pistons but that any machine shop could put in generic sleeves. However, when I called two machine shops, the first said there was no such thing as generic sleeves and the second said he might be able to make something from another manufacturer work, but methods of removing / installing sleeves varied by manufacturer, so he would need the specifics for Mahindra.
Does anyone know where I can get parts, or know of a machinist that can sleeve Mahindra’s?

'Beg your pardon....", but which dealer said they couldn't get sleeves/pistons for the 4110?? Also, how did you determine that that two pistons were scored??Someone open it up??Third question: Where did you get it and did you inspect it first? I know these questions are somewhat "direct" but this seems to have come out of nowhere, and to my knowledge, no one has had such a problem prior to you bringing this up. Please respond. Mahindra/USA (800 561-9265) and two dealers in VA said they couldn't get 4110 sleeves or oversize pistons.
I bought from a VA dealer it knowing it was burning oil and prepared to have to do some repairs- hoping it would be a head gasket or rings. The dealer did a compression check (400-400-180-300) and found two scored cylinders. That is when I discovered the apparent lack of repair parts for Mahindra/TYM/Daedong.
I know there MUST be some way to repair these!

I've not had a failure on one of these so haven't yet had a head off one. Is it a sleeved engine? Apparently not?

So it appears Mahindra has standard pistons/rings etc, but not oversized? If that is the case, I'd check with a production engine rebuilder in your area. Bring him a sample of your piston. Not much is truly unique in this world, he can probably spec out and provide you with what you need.

You might try posting in the TYM forum there is a guy who frequents there that is going by tym tech maybe he can give you a line. Also have you tried the engine manufacturer themselves? Daedong?

I am told the 4110 is not sleeved although some other models are. Oversized pistons and rings are not available. I have talked to one machinist that said it MAY be pssible to put in sleeves from another company. I would like to talk to a machinst in the Virginia area that has done this.
If anyone knows of a used 4110 engine, tha might be a good solution.

I would think it would be like looking for a needle in a haystack to find a used engine. It would be very hard to find another 4110 that has ever had an engine tear down. But that said you need to get the engine out and get it to a good engine machine shop. They will measure it up and figure out a way to repair it. Good luck with it.

How much are you willing to spend on the rebuild?

New not rebuilt engines are available reasonably.
They come with a new fuel system/water pump etc.

I believe if you find a good rebuilder they could fix it
BUT it may not be any cheaper than buying a new long block.
