Mahindra Tractor SAE and Metric Sockets and Wrenches

The young man who delivered our new 5555 stated that that all the fasteners were metric. However, the manual for the FEL showed only SAE size fasteners. So do I try the existing 1/2 and 3/4 inch drive SAE sockets we already have to see if they fit? Oh no, of course not. I order a big honking 3/4 drive metric socket set (already had a 1/2 inch drive set) and a big metric combination wrench set from Harbor Freight. Maybe your Mahindra is different than mine but so far all the fasteners I've checked on the FEL and wheels seem to be SAE. Are there any metric fasteners?

All the fasteners on my physical tractor appear to be SAE. All the fasteners on the engine and under hood components have been metric. Hope this helps.

The front end loader is made here (USA). The tractor is made overseas.

In the larger sizes with 6-point sockets, IT dont make much difference. Actually, sometimes a SAE socket fits a metric bolt better and vice versa.

What is stamped on the bolt heads, that will tell it all. Something like 8.8, 10.9, 12.9......metric. If it has the / (dashes) around the head, SAE. 6 slashes is gr8, 3 is gr5
