Mahindra is an Indian company that builds a ton of tractors. But like Deere, Case/NH/IH, etc some of their product line is built in other countries (Korea, etc). My 2008 Mahindra 5525 (54 hp engine, 45 hp pto, 2WD, power steering, gear tranny 8F/2R) was built in India as are their larger hp tractors. The smaller hp tractors are the ones built elsewhere.
Reviews: start with the Mahindra forums here and look for threads that talk about problems. I've had my tractor for nearly 4 years with no problems. But I only put about 40 hours per year on the 5525 so it's barely broken in.

The 16 series tractors are made by Mitsubishi for Mahindra. The 10 series tractors are made by TYM for Mahindra. All the others are made by Mahindra. They have both econo models and models with lots of extras, you just need to look and ask questions. Pretty much all the tractors built today are pretty good machines.

I have a 15 series made by Mitsubishi using their diesel engine. I think the assembly plant is here in the states in Georgia but not positive. I've had mine for 7 years now without any major problems. Only thing I had to take mine back for was to have the loader control replaced years ago under warranty. I do all my own service on mine.

George, the tractors come in crates pretty much assembled. I believe that the tires & wheels, seats and roll bars are installed here in the states. If a person wants a loader , extra remotes-options those are installed here also. Actually I am pretty sure that the tires & wheels and the loaders are made stateside. I'm thinking that even the seats are made here. :confused3: Maybe Dave's Tractor will confirm this, he is the West coast distributor for Mahindra.

Seats are from Michigan Seat...I have a sneaky suspicion that the fuel tanks are USA, too, do to the tag that was on mine. Tires and rims are all marked U.S.A., loader made in Kansas by KMW using Canadian cylinders.

New Mahindra 4035 has a KMW loader on it says Made in USA.
