Mahindra - trans/hydraulic oil?

Son-in-law just got a couple 5 gals of Traveller hydraulic oil at a store called Tractor Supply. The weight is 10 - 20. The can makes no mention of Mahindra. The closest thing is Deer and Kubota. Can says good for systems sharing all oil between trans and hydraulic system. Tractor manual doesn't seem to say too much about what oil to use. I believe I'm good to go with what I have now. But I want to be sure. Is anyone familiar with Tractor Supply or this oil? It's the only one they have so I guess it's OK.

What Model Mahindra do You have? Any product that TSC sells for a Tractor is good. I have a 2810 gear drive With fel and backhoe and I am well pleased with it. I grease my tractor with Lithium grease from TSC and it is good.

Not sure about the Korean/TYM Mahindras but the "00" series tractors have separate hydraulic and trans cases. 00 Trans calls for 80W-90 EP gear oil and the hydraulic resevoir calls for 30W non foaming oil (read hydraulic oil).

I have a 4110. The trans and the hydraulic share the oil, if I got it right. Book calls for almost 10 gallon for a change. For some reason haven't been able to find specs, for oil, in book. I bought 10-20 weight trans/hydraulic fluid. Maybe I should have bought fluid at dealer, but dealer is much more expensive. Of course getting the wrong stuff could be expensive. Not checking equipment fluids can be expensive too. I remember my dads favorite words, "Don't forget to check the oil, boy. Oil's cheaper than bearings you know."

I agree with you on Tractor Supply. I do use the lithium with molly something in it. Less than two bucks at TSC. Saw regular lithium at Advance Auto; almost four bucks a tube. International dealer was almost $3.
