yes my boomer has a cracked chassis
Hi John509,
This happened in June 2016. I took the Boomer 1030 to the dealer in Nambour Qld (David Evans) who were quite astounded to see it at 400hrs. They called New Holland even though it was out of warranty. It took New Holland 8 weeks to reply and send the warranty manager up from Brisbane (a 2hr drive). He walked in as if he owned the dealership and kicked the tyres and made an offer of supplying a new mainframe but I would have to pay the labour costs to have everything transferred across (approx $2,500).
When the frame finally arrived 4 weeks later (New Holland had 2 frames but could not find them in their warehouse), we were able to see the damage up close. It had broken about 8 inches up from where the main frame attaches to the rear hydraulics and gearbox case. It had sheared directly up from a cut in the frame and where another piece of metal had been welded on in the factory. This weld had not taken and was on the piece of the frame we retained. The cut became the source of the failure of the frame fracturing up.
We have used a small 4' Howard Nugget slasher which I was told by both New Holland and Howard representatives would be ok given it weight and capacity of the tractor.
What has happened to your's if you wish you can contact me directly and I can speak a little more frankly. 0412 733 737
