Hello all and Happy New Year!

I purchased a lift a few months back and it really speeds up maintenance on my Ventrac's and other related equipment. I refer to it as my "Back saver / Time saver. With the 4200 on the lift it takes me about 5 minutes to remove and 10 minutes to install the dual wheels. As seen in the photos there is no need to block the inner wheel as it sits firmly on the lift while the outer wheel overhangs. Also working with these wheels at waist level is a lot easier on my back. I just use a 1/2 inch impact wrench operating at 100 PSI to loosen and tighten the collet. Checking tire pressures is a breeze and while oil changes and greasing aren't especially pleasant at least you don't have to get on your hands and knees.

I included a photo of my Kubota 2910 as a reference for those who might also own a compact tractor.

The lift has configuration options and is sold nationally through various distributors. I found the "UTV" option to work best for me.

Just Google Kernel 2200 Lift?

Bruce

I like that lift. Looks very handy to have .If I ever get a garage big enough I will probably put it on my wish list right under the 15k twin post lift.

Thanks. I just wanted something to get things at eye level. Cleaned the carb and fuel tank on my 4 wheeler Saturday and found it so much easier to work on.

Happy New Year!

Good idea, of course I'm garage space challenged, with the cars, Ventrac, mowers for it, etc... Had to run the Corvette to the house in TN and leave it in the garage there... Airplane hangar is even getting filled with stuff.

But that is cool... Big question (and I may have asked already) What do you think of the blower? (probably the next thing I buy....)

Thanks. I use the blower about 10 hours per year for fall leaves. It's a nice attachment that is surprisingly quiet for the amount of air it puts out. I haven't had any issues with it.

I appreciate it.... Its one thing I'd like to get.... I figured out its about (I forget) 4 or 5x the power of the biggest Stihl backpack blower... So Its must be good... I'd really like the big one, but I'm running out of places to store stuff....

A lot of the attachments don't get a lot of use...

Stump grinder... Maybe 20 stumps... When you need it, its there and I knock off small ones too....

Aeriator... Use it twice a year maybe 5 hours each time...

Spreader .... Once a year for fertilizer or pelitized lime... When you have to buy it at about 2 tons at a time it gets expensive. But with a helper to open the bags and dump them into the spreader, you can do it in a couple hours...

Broom.... Pretty cool. The thing about it is... You don't use it a lot, but when you use it, its amazing how fast it knocks stuff off. Mud on the road in front of house, or stones that washed onto the road after a storm... For that matter I had piles of wood chips from the chipper and blew them everywhere.... I'm going to try on snow here soon (IF JRS and didn't jinx the snow)...

Power Bucket with the clamp... Use that thing all the time, right behind the mower in time on the machine... Really useful, not cheap, but I can do a lot in a short time...

That short time theme keeps running through all of this... Big time savers.....

Thanks

The blower is on my to-get list. Walking up and down the 1,600-foot driveway with the Stihl BR600 on my back is getting a bit old, or rather I am.

Back to the original topic, hey, Bruce, that lift looks mighty slick!

The broom is great with snow, up to approximately 15 cm (6 inches) in depth.

I need to agree with you on the broom... Hit about 2" of snow with it today... AWESOME, really went right to the pavement. I'm impressed... Did 4 driveways and about 200yds of one lane road with it...

Question if anyone knows, how fast does the broom wear and whats it cost to replace it?

I am glad that you had a good experience today with the rotary broom.

I will be out with mine in the early morning light.

I have had my rotary broom for two years now. I have used it regularly in the Winter, and occasionally in the Fall, or after wind storms to sweep sticks. The bristles show little wear.

The rate wear will depend upon how much Weight Transfer that you use employ, and whether you are brooming uphill or downhill. In my experience, the scrubbing action is much more vigorous when traveling uphill. I have found that a Weight Transfer setting higher than 2 resulting in markedly reduced brushing.

The bristles themselves seem very wear-resistant, but I have picked up a few off of the driveway or its environs that have separated from the rotor body.

I do not know what replacement rotors cost. They are probably not inexpensive.

Best,

JJM
