Maintenance of JD 755 Sub-Compact Tractor

Hello

I have recently purchased a used and abused John Deere 755 sub-compact tractor with factory front loader and # 7 backhoe and would like to communicate with experienced repair persons or owners.

The poor tractor doesn't appear to have received regular maintenance of the hydraulic system; fluid and filter changes. My first question is about the strainer in the rear trans axle, can it be cleaned or does it have to be replaced?
