Ok what am I missing... everytime I try to use an implement It has side to side movement and makes digging holes or picking up loads difficult.

Does it with everything unless I have it lifted to keep the chains tight.

You need better check chains (located so they are at the same tension no matter how high the arms are), or extendible bars. Might check with Mark at Stabilworks.com to see if he has any that will fit your tractor. We got a set from him for our B7500 and they work perfectly.

What type of sway stabilizers do you have and how do you adjust them?

the only thing I've seen thats adjustable is the height of one of the arms and the length of the chains... but if I keep the chains short it reduces how high I can lift... Im now shopping sway stabilizers...:confused3:

I think the video, in the link provided by bcp, will tell you what you need to know. There are varius types of 3pt hitch stabilizers from simpe bars to the sliders shown in the video and the screw type on my MF. I imagne the more adjustable ones are more expensive. Good luck with the one you buy.

If your check chains tighten when you lift your 3ph they are not properly installed or connected onto your tractor. The front ends of the chain should attach out next to the wheels on a bracket that is in line with the front end of your lift arms so as to not change length when hitch is raised or lowered. You may need to move the front end of chains to get that same point in line with the lifting arms. I'd use my existing chains but add whatever hardware I needed to move them.

My Yanmar has sway chains but my Ferguson has 1 sway bar on 1 side. That sway bar has been there 58 years so I see no need to change it. But by having a ridgid bar there is no adjustment, but then, none is needed.

after searching I found the original sway bar with some misc tractor things we inhearited with this farm. Seems at some point the sway bar was beefed up because the two points where it attaches have posts too large for my bar. Headed to the store in the morning. If this doesnt do the job I'll keep you all posted.

Thanks again
