Just got a great deal on a Meyer's 6.5' snow plow(Thanks SCAPER) I am staring the design for attaching to my FEL, Here is the issue...

I plan on getting the VM Hyrdaulic splitter so I can control the angle of the blade(and maybe for a hydraulic top link). The Meyer's plow uses single acting cylinders, will they work?
I guess here is the real question...
If you push the DSCV to the right(dump or blade right) is the other side of the circuit "open" to allow the fliud in the other cylinder back in back in?

I know I am over thinking this...
Please help /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif,hydraulics are a new animal for me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have a 7' front plow mounted to my Deere 4300 and think a 6.5 Meyer should work real well on your Deere 4110.

snow plow

More info can be learned by doing a search on "western plow" or "snow plow", if the above URL doesn't bring up something (see the picture attachment on post #102270, dated 1/21/02). I drop the FEL and as easily, tip the blade onto the front of the tractor, tighten two 3/4" bolts, hook up three hyd. hoses and PLOW away. A great rig. The plow attachment bracket hooks onto the two plates that the midmount mower bail hooks into under the front end. The bolts are to anchor the bracket to the front weight bar. The bucket curl works for the angle of the blade, and the lift is one hose to the "lift" side of the FEL control valve.

Your welcome Ken, and may I say very nice to meet you and good luck with your system. I will tell you this after you left my son and I removed the other blade from the snow bank and cleaned it up. We then placed it in the bucket of the BX and chained it in tighter then a gnats rearend. I went to the bottom of the drive where the snow was piled up and made three passes slowly with the tractor to see what it would do and by darned it pushed that hard snow back into the yard clear to the swail. I started to think that maybe , just maybe I'm being to hastey getting ride of the other plow and hook up. I took some measurments and did an angle calculation for 30 degrees and I'm pretty sure that if I cut the blade down to 56 to 58 " and lighten the mount some I can use the other 6.5' for my BX2200. This would leave me a clear path of 51" enough to cover the width of my front 4' bucket. I did find out from Meyer's that the front 6.5' poly blade and A-frame mount plus the A-frame it's self weigh just over 220lbs. I think by dropping 20 inches of frame and poly blade, 10" each side, I will save approximately 40 pounds on the front blade that I now have plus another 10 to 15 pounds off the hitch system that I showed you. I did find out that the Kubota 60" front blade and mount kit weighed approx. 220lbs. so the Meyer would be lighter in the long run. I'll keep in touch. Mark

Thanks for the reply BeenThere. I assume the Western plow you have has single acting cylinders as well?
If so then I can use the Meyers ones on my plow.
