LINCOLN - A 46-year-old man from Pollock Pines was killed Monday night when a backhoe bucket fell on him at a Lincoln construction site.
Michael Hokanson, a field mechanic for Shanahan Equipment, was welding the backhoe bucket about 8 p.m. at a residential construction site on Moore Road near Pheasant Lane.
The backhoe apparently rolled off a block, and the 4,500-pound bucket fell on Hokanson, Lincoln Police Lt. Brian Vizzusi said.
Hokanson was pronounced dead at the scene.
