Man, Is my Grass green and Growing!!!

How is everyones grass doing now? I think mine is greener now than in the spring! We have had in the last 3 or 4 weeks over a foot of rain. My drive way looks like crap because of the ruts but the grass looks great.

Same here. I've mowed more in the last 3 weeks than I did in the spring. Very unusual since normally by this time of year there's little to mow.

Same here in the Buffalo area. We are finally getting some rain and the gras s is starting to green up. I don't ever recall such a dry summer.

Lots of rainy afternoons ...I get rain from both the Atlantic and Gulf sides! If only I had my brand new CC here instead of that so-called dealer...

It's getting to where the bulldog looks at me like I am crazy when he goes outside ... grass is almost as tall as him! He goes into the woods but refuses to play in the yard with that tall grass ... geez. Maybe he just likes the air conditioning too much! LOL!

We're still in a rain deficit here, but it's getting enough rain to grow. Esp that stupid bahaya grass! If you let it get very tall it just won't all cut on one pass, even with brand new gator blades.

I don't know about the rest of you but I am certainly ready for mowing season to end. Just waiting for the leaves to drop so I can finish up for the year. I usually stop in late October or the middle of November.

Not me! I love Autumn, but I hate Winter. I also would rather mow grass than just about anything else, chorewise.

We had a good rain in NE Ohio the last couple of days. Time for a good core aeration,winter fertilizer and a little patching before the snow starts flying!

What's the Massey in your avatar?? I grew up helping out on a farm on a '57 Massey Ferguson 65. Spent many hours on that machine brush hogging, plowing, disking, and mowing and raking hay. That was over 25 years ago.

My first love is a 60's vintage Ford 3000 tractor as when I was about 7, the fields around our house were mowed by a high school girl several times a year on her father's 3000. Not sure if I was in love with her or the tractor..... probably both! :=) Then I got hooked up with the after school job on the Massey. What a great tractor.

OK, so on topic - we had 13" of rain this past August. I was mowing every other day to keep up. We've been pretty dry since, so finally I've gotten ahead of the grass. Put more hours on the Cub this year than the past two put together! Yard sure looks great though!
