Something to remember. Transmissions and axles usually aren't meant to be submerged. A friend was recently launching a boat with his Dodge 4x4, in unusually shallow water. His stepson was driving and was told to keep coming but say something if the water gets too high. As it turned out, the boat got launched but when my friend opened the door, water poured out. It turned out, that he destroyed his year old rebuilt transmission and had to scrap the truck.

Why would John Deere own the tractor because this guy does something purposely and ruins his tractor, if it is ruined. Can't see it happening.

There where several clips on the news of some pretty big Ag tractors carrying people in the front bucket that I saw. I was curious about the axles being sealed and how high up their vent lines where.

I saw the video as being a very good deed, even at the expense of damaging his fine tractor. What better use for a tractor than saving a life?

normally if the axles are submerged, it is recommended to drain and refill with new fluids, repack the bearings, and so on, and probably would be good to do a second time after a few hours,

I had heard in the news that they were looking for people with Monster trucks to help out in the area.
