I find the recoil starter on my BCS735 with ALN330wb engine retracts the cable very slowly. Would a cleaning, oiling or tightening the spring help this? Any suggestions on how to do this?

Also, the cable has eaten through the faierlead (part #108.022). I'm going to rotate the starter housing, raising the faierlead to a position where I don't have to be on the ground to pull the cable without cutting into it, but I haven't found a source that might have this part. Does anyone know where I can locate one?
As I run my hand down the cable, I find a few spots where it appears that a wire has broken in the cable, so it isn't completely smooth there. Does this increase the wear on the faierlead, or should I just wait to replace it until the cable is truly frayed or broken?
