Manual hood rod vs gas struts, TC 55

How deluxe is the price of those gas struts when they quit working? Now that could be a real annoyance.

Boy, you got that right. Sometimes when they fail, it's not that they won't stay up, but won't come down. 96, Firebird, raised the trunk to put in groceries, strut locked up, couldn't lower decklid. Finally had to take off bad strut to get thing to shut, went round and round with dealer over this.
