Manuals?

So, what does everyone suggest as the basic set of manuals that I should own for a NH tractor? I want to be able to change all my own fluids and filters, be able to remove and replace parts and make first attempts at diagnosing any problems. Is there a basic set of manuals? Does everyone buy there manuals at their NH dealer or is there a non-OEM source that is better, cheaper?

Bob when you make your tractor purchase you should negotiate with your dealer for the complete set of service manuals for your tractor. Buying them afterward will cost you more money unless you're lucky enough to snag a set at eBay.

In my case the dealer had a set that came back to him with a trade in and I snagged the set for $100.

The service manuals are very informative.

New Holland now offers most of the TC repair/shop manuals in PDF format on CD for around $80. You can go to the New Holland website and search for your tractor model. They also offer the printed version but for a lot more.

It has been my limited experience with searching on the CNH tech pubs website that the $80 CD price is for tractors that are no longer in production (like my TC-18) and the price is more like $200-$300 or more for tractors that are still in production. At least for the Repair Manuals.
