Manufacturer for Frontier 1270 tiller?

Who builds the Frontier 12 series of tillers for John Deere? I'm considering the 1270 but would like to have some more information.

I believe its a Maschio B series.....

I saw a 1270 this spring at a dealer...VERY nice tiller.

Thanks, Dave. Local landscaping contractor bought a 1270 (4 years ago) and never used it!! I looked at it last night and there is no wear and just a wee bit of surface rust in a spot here and there.

He has a Harley rake and an 8' Gannon hyd box rake that does everything that the tiller does - his words - so he had/has no need for it.

Asked the dealer to take it back (they weren't interested in that) - they tried for a year to sell it for him - and no takers.

The price he's asking is about half of list!! Can't let that deal get away.. :thumbsup:

I bought it. It's sitting in the back of my son's truck. I've got 5 acres that are just waitin' for that big hoss!!

It makes my 'ol JD 660 tiller look a bit like a Tonka toy!

Good for you! I'd be lying if I said I wasnt jealous.... with a newborn on the way and a perfectly good 72" Tiller I "legally stole" last spring....upgrading tiller would be a sure way to find out what it feels like to be shot. :laughing:

Well, you've got a wide enough tiller, anyway.

I've been wantin' a different tiller for a while, now. That 60" wouldn't cover both tires - so, that made for more laps. I was thinking more along the lines of a JD 673. This 1270 is way hurky!!

One thing I think I can get away with though is making myself a couple kickstands like on that one...is there a kickstand on both sides or just the one pictured?
Next tiller project I have scheduled is to pop off the chain cover and weld in a bung so I can have a drain plug.

We handle Sicma, First Choice, Phoenix, Farmmax and years ago Kioti. They were all Italian Sicma except for color. Some of the new Frontier tillers look the same to me? I don't know about 4 years ago. Ken Sweet
