It was a 2 horse tag trailer that has been used to carry a baby roller for asphalt work. I was going to use it to transport the ractor but it is a little too small. It is very strong with about 18' sides and a ramp so I am going to use it as a manure wagon/ utility trailer. It has a VERY heavy pintle hook setup that I will attach to the drawbar with a twist clevis. I was trying to figure out the best way to add a hitch and then I figured why not just use a clevis. ther cheap and strong. Should work perfect the JD dealer has a bigber clevis that I know will fit, my current clevis is a 3 ton unit but is a smidge small in the loop.

I intend to leave it outside the barn and the wheel barrel can be wheeled up the ramp and the manure dumped on the deck. Every week when it fill I will pull it out to the woods and then unload it with the FEL.

I will also use it to transport firewood from my woods to the house and to go get stone or wood chips from the landscape supply place.

Price was right too...free from my buddy

I understand when that manure dries out it burns real well, but I doubt the smell is conducive to marital bliss. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Gives an entirely new meaning to the term "Yule Log" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Those were called " chip's "

At one time fuel of choice by necessity in the treeless prairies!

Free is always a good thing! Looks as if you found a good deal with the trailer and should be very usefull around the property. BY the way, the compost bins I built a couple of months ago are proving to work very well. I got two bin's that are ready to spread /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I saw those bins you built they are very nice. being that I have about 8 telephone poles lying around I was thinking of doing the same. I just don't know where would be best. I need to put a hay shed and manure area on one side of the property but I want to address some drainage issues nearby first. Maybe next year I will get to it. I want to see how the drainage changes the muddy area before I do anything. As it is now the water sort of "runs" between where I would like the shed/compost area and the barn.

For now I will put the manure in the woods and if I need it I know where to find it, stuff has a tendency to hang around for awhile /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
