Gee I wonder if this qualifies for a long life tractor? Never the less do you think this shows that Kubota goes the distance?

Probably a typo, especially for a 245. Great tractor and would likely do the time if well cared for but that's a lot of hours for actual use.

13173 is a bit much. I suspect a case of decimal creep?

Might be hard to tell; my old B8200HSTD was a 1986 model; it only counted to 999 hours. So there is no real way to verify that hour total, unless the owners took exceptional records. That proof/hour meter would have rolled over 13 times...

In the past here on TBN, there have been discussions relating 5000 hours being a reasonable goal for a HST tractor. I could certainly see, with proper care, how that gear tractor could rack up high hours, if well taken care of, and depending on the jobs it was used for.

Look at some of the old Farmalls, Ford N series etc that have a bazillion hours on them.

That would not happen for me though. I had the Kubota for 12 years, taking care of my 5 acres, parents 8 acres, and a little side work. That still only came to 800 hours on the meter(60-80 hours a year). Over the last couple years, I have put more time in with my NH TC40D, mostly because of adding a 3pt splitter and pto chipper recently.

I don't know, I have 46 on my Kioti and I have used it for about a month.
and I don't use the tractor much. Compared to some people.

I bet the hours are a typo. But that's a very good old tractor! And looks in good cosmetic shape. I had a L245 for about 20 years and could not kill it. Put about 5000 hours on it with a 5' bush hog.

If that time is correct, then they took exceptional care of it. Probably good for another 13k. Our B5100 has 1100 or so and it looks beat, but runs great. We are likely the 3rd or 4th owners. Looks like the Kubota design team had a poster of the Farmall Cub on the wall when they layed ink to vellum. Not a bad choice.

I'll bet the new 2012 plastic models won't make it to 13K hrs.:(

Yeah it does. My old L245 wasn't offset like that and mine looked like **** after 5000 hrs! Have never seen a Kubota like it. Kind a cool though.
