Not a boat guy but I am leaning toward marine grade however they need to be durable and I just don't see that rockers would be. I install lights and power ports on open station tractors and the latest farmer is ADAMENT that he "Don't want no chinsee stuff".
Google is loaded with suppliers but looking for real world experience. Looking for suggestions on what to use for dash switches that are,
1) weatherproof
2) durable
3) UV tolerant
4) industry standard type (so in years to come, new dash modification isn't required to add or replace)
5) LARGE enough for wearing gloves

SPST, amperage will be on relays, lighted would be nice but not required.
Thanks in advance.

I bought these at a Blain's Farm & Fleet store. The switch has a small o-ring on switch handle and claims to be moisture and dust resistant - added rubber protective caps.

Up to 6 on my external switchbox now

Just added a 12v radiator (operator cooling) fan between the rops - still a work in progress, stirs up quite a breese.

I would be looking at something from Carling Technologies... I personally like the V-Series Contura's (I like the Contura II & III versions).

They are an industry standard in marine, off-road & heavy equipment have been around for years & fit all standard cutouts... you can get them in almost any configuration (SPST, SPDT, DPST, DPDT) with or with out lights. They also make bezels so you can configure a custom switch bank & the switches are IP66/68 rated.

I have used the Contura V-series switches in every application with great result. (2 boats, tractors, heavy equipment & countless cars/trucks/off-road vehicles). I like them because of the many configuration you can get them in & that they are a reliable & quality product. They unfortunately are not the least expensive & sometimes will not fit for a certain application.

They are easy to operate with gloves on...

Here a few pics of the ones I added to our TC40's dash.

From their Website:
"Certified to IP66/68, the V-Series Contura switches offer complete protection against dust, prolonged spray and submersion under pressure and are recognized to UL1500 - Ignition Protection for Marine Products. These switches are vibration, shock, thermoshock, moisture and salt spray resistant with operating temperature ranging from -40ーC to 85ーC"

Blue Sea Systems has a lot of waterproof options. I used a bunch of their stuff on both my Mako and Boston Whaler boats for custom switch panels. I liked the built in circuit breakers.

Yep, Contura rockers by Carling (and licensed to other brands) are the industry standard in the boating world. Several variations. I've never had a single problem with these switches on any boats over the years.

Thanks Guys.
I have used the rubber protected toggles in the past and the sun and kneecaps trash them. I will be trying the Contura.
The amount of knowledge and experience on TBN is phenomenal.
